Meet the Team

Select is a name in school travel packed with experience

Select School Travel

The Select family is incorporated under the banner of Select School Travel and includes the Château du Baffy (which is exclusive to Select), Select School Tours (offering educational tours to Europe and beyond) and Select School Skiing (with a wide range of winter sports trips to European and North American ski resorts).

Founders

Over the past 46 years, I have founded several successful school travel companies. With Select School Travel I am proud to have gathered an extremely skilled and experienced group of individuals to make up the Select team. Our ethos is to offer an array of educational and ski tours to match cost with service, alongside quality.

My qualifications and professional experience are within Leisure and Tourism, Public Relations, and as Marketing Manager within premium products. The world of school educational and skiing tours was very much part of my life growing up, and I’m proud and excited to be driving the family business with SST.

I have a wealth of experience in school travel and working with party leaders, ensuring quality with competitive prices. I'm thrilled to be part of the Select team which has brought together a highly experienced and customer focused team.

I have been involved in school travel since 1999, working with a number of market leading operators. Over the past 17 years, no two days have been the same, continually learning about and delivering the support our group leaders need from their operator partner in order to prepare and deliver the best possible itineraries.

My experience in school travel began in 1991. Over the years I have worked to ensure our school clients are provided with successful, safe and secure tours, during an ever changing travel industry and financial climate. My knowledge of school travel from a financial perspective is extensive having shadowed one of the best leaders in the industry.

Having worked for a number of larger school tour operators over the past 20 years, I appreciate the difference at SST. The best thing about my work is meeting teachers who share the desire for young people to explore and experience new things. The highlight of my day is when a returning group says, thank you for your advice - it was an amazing trip!

I have worked within school travel since 1999 and haven’t looked back since. It’s such a pleasure to talk to a party leader about their plans, many of whom I have been seeing for 17 years now, and often learn something new myself, such as an event in history or a new place to visit, information I can then pass on to other teachers.

I have been looking after school trips for the past 8 years, and during that time I have been lucky enough to see first-hand the enjoyment and benefits that school trips bring to the pupils and staff. I am very proud of my work and love to spend time exploring the possibilities of new and exciting destinations with my teachers.

I've enjoyed over 20 years experience in the travel and tourism industry, living and working mainly abroad. Some of that time has been working in ski resorts, some in school travel, as well as teaching. I feel I can thoroughly understand the needs from the party leader's perspective. I'm really looking forward to sharing my knowledge and working within this great team at SST.

Having worked for over 20 years within school travel, I am now absolutely delighted to be a part of this experienced SST team. I’ve been fortunate enough to have skied and visited many of our destinations and look forward to passing on my knowledge. I’ve always enjoyed the interaction with my group leaders and love hearing the success stories on their return.

I have over 10 years experience working in the travel industry and am passionate about helping schools with their trips. I joined SST as they are by far the best company in the industry and thoroughly enjoy matching schools to destinations in order to help with the education and development of their students.

I have been involved in the travel industry most of my working life and have spent the last 10 years primarily within School Travel.
I still get excited about each and every booking. I am passionate about travel, visiting new destinations and learning about different cultures. It gives me great satisfaction playing a part (big or small,) helping school groups achieve the best possible experience.

My specialist area is our classics tours and I've worked with groups for over thirty years putting together itineraries and advising them on the best destinations and excursions for their tour. I love working with teachers year on year and building new relationships too!

Contracting

My role involves travelling to a variety of destinations to ensure that the products we have in place are well suited and safe for our groups. Developing new ideas and setting up new products is a very exciting part of the business, and I endeavour to hand pick suppliers that know how to work effectively with schools.

Fortunate to have spent a good number of years based in the French Alps, as well as several years overseeing school group ski operations in Italy and Austria – I am excited to be part of Select School Travel and look forward to working with a great network of overseas suppliers and staff to ensure our groups have a fantastic experience.

My experience is primarily within school travel, working both in educational and ski tours. With a background in German, I specialise in both operations and contracting. I'm really looking forward to being part of Select School Travel.

I have worked in the school ski travel business for 5 years. I grew up skiing and snowboarding as I was born in Austria and still live here. What I really love about this industry is that it enables pupils to experience and develop a passion for winter sports. I am very happy to be part of such an experienced team.

Operations

Since 2000 I’ve worked across educational & mainstream tour operations, overseas and in the UK. As Mum of 2, I know it’s a monumental responsibility for schools to take their children further than the playground and I’m proud to lead the team of Select Tour Coordinators in delivering a quality, timely and fuss-free tour coordinating service to all our Party Leaders.

I started working in school travel in 2003 and have since enjoyed getting to know a wide range of destinations both in the mountains and around the world for educational tours. I love planning and organising operational aspects for trips to make them run a smoothly as possible, but mostly to hear stories from the groups on their return!

It is exciting to be part of a thriving company that has specialist staff with an extensive knowledge and understanding of how the school travel industry works. The company is growing fast and we’re getting glowing feedback from our groups. I love to read the positive emails, praising our staff members for their efficiency and professionalism.

Iceland is my specialist destination and I love tailor-making tours and advising party leaders about the fantastic excursions on offer and what works best. I also co-ordinate trips to Italy, Spain, Greece and Northern Ireland. Excellent customer care is crucial in our sector - at SST we understand relationships are at the heart of what we do.

Having started in the educational tours industry in 2006, I’ve been lucky enough to spend 10 years sharing my passion for travel. If I had to choose my favourite destination I would say Normandy; it’s such a special place for school groups, and in the Chateau du Baffy we have a wonderful base that mirrors the history and culture of the local area.

I have a range of experience working in positions across the ski industry, from President of Sussex University Ski Club to working as a ski Duty Manager in Japan. My favourite part of working in school travel is representing groups in the mountains where you see the students enjoying all the work that goes towards producing a successful trip.

My roles working in school travel and ski have been varied, from junior, working in reception, reservations for adults, to working in resort as chalet girl then becoming a team leader Ski and Lakes and Mountains.

I look after the groups from confirmation stage until they have returned safely back to the UK and no two groups are ever the same. Seeing the high level of repeat bookings shows that at Select School Travel the difference really is experience. Our commitment to making sure the trips are as successful and educational as possible is our number one priority.

I began working in school travel in 2012, on my placement year at Uni. From working in Product Development, researching new inspirational opportunities and exploring their curricular benefits, to coordinating tours at SST, I love how school travel enables me to utilise my creative side whilst working with teachers to develop unique itineraries.
